Diane DePalma, a licensed clinical psychologist, received her M.A. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Rochester in New York, and trained for an additional two years as a postdoctoral fellow in adult clinical psychology at the University of Rochester Medical Center.
Dr. DePalma joined the George Washington University in 1980, serving as Director of the University Counseling Center from 1985 to 2008. She was also a member of the GWU faculty as a Clinical Professor of Psychology. While at GWU, her work focused primarily on developing and providing a broad range of clinical and educational programs to help young adults reach their full academic and personal potential.
Throughout her career, Dr. DePalma has published articles and presented papers at professional conferences on both mental health topics and those related to professional leadership and management. She has been a highly respected mentor and trainer of new psychologists, postdoctoral fellows, and doctoral interns. She has worked with college counseling centers locally and has provided consultation for colleagues from across the nation.
Dr. DePalma has practiced psychotherapy in the DC area for more than 30 years. She has provided services both to young and older adults facing personal and professional life challenges.
